Elements of ’70s punk energy, ’80s new wave sensibility, and ’90s college radio guitar all get mashed in there, topped with gutsy female vocals. Molice quotes The Velvet Underground, The Doors, and The Pixies among their influences, along with The Police (from whom their name is partially formed) and a number of other bands from different eras and genres, so let’s just say they have things covered from the ’70s forward.

Based out of Tokyo, andymori formed in 2007 and began playing shows locally but frequently. Just one year later on October 8, 2008, they released their 1st ep entitled “Andy, Rock, a Bengal Tiger and Whisky.” The quick rise in popularity contrasted with andymori’s penchant for keeping a low profile.and enjoying life at their own pace. After countless live performances, they released their 1st full album “andymori” on February 7, 2009. The album was self-titled to reflect the abundance of songs filled with their freewheeling character and hope. Lyrics brimming with nostalgia, introspection, humor and wit are set to infectious melodies ranging in tone from calm and relaxing to edgy and explosive. The summer of 2009 saw andymori performing at Japan’s biggest rock festivals: SummerSonic, Sweet Love Shower and Rock in Japan. (note: they had already performed at Fuji Rock Festival in 2008).

OKAMOTO’S are a four piece hailing from Shinjuku, Tokyo. They take their name, just as the Ramones did, with all four members having the same surname; Drums – Reiji Okamoto, Bass – Hama Okamoto, Guitar – Kouki Okamoto, Vox – Shou Okamoto (taking the surname from their favorite Avant Garde painter Tarou Okamato). At only 18 years old, this band is ready to fill the boots of the Ramones and become legends themselves.

June of 2009 saw them release their debut album “Here are Okamoto’s” and with over 100 live shows under their belt, Okamoto’s are going to just get better and scarier with every step they take.

Their name is Hyper, but thier songs actually have japanese retro melody lines that make it feel the beginning of 1990′s mood.It sounds similar with ZAZEN BOYS. Interesting and really rather weird. I find this rock band vastly more intriguing. Sonic Attack Blaster will start selling new album in January 2010.
